Today's 15:00 kick off feels very much like battle lines are drawn. Not sure if it is due to the fact, that it's Burnley, and we all know what kind of game we are in for. Or if it's the fact we haven't had a midweek game to distract us from the fact we are watching our rivals in Europe. Or whether the Burnley vs Everton game is still in the forefront of my mind, where some extremely bad tackles were left unpunished. Whatever is it, the team should be well prepared for the challenge ahead. Mikel, off the back of the best days in his life, seems to be in an especially joyous mood of late, and I hope the team are sipping from the same bowl of special fruit punch.
I would love to see us build on last week's performance and show another strong display. Against Norwich the backline played as one, and the addition of Tomiyasu seemed to bring pepe into the game too. Albeit we'll face a sterner test I'd like to see how our players match up, deal with the aerial pressure and work the ball into our attaching areas.
Xhaka seems like the only player on the absentee list, missing through suspension. Everyone else seems available to the boss. I hope the team stays relatively unchanged, with maybe Party coming in for a start in the game in place of AMN. Will we play with a 3 at the back considering Burley with have two up top? I think he might switch to it, but we'll see. There nothing I like seeing more than a moaning Sean Dyche. Seriously can't stand that man. So, let's hope he is moaning and complaining all afternoon long, until his voice sounds…. Well not sure his voice could possibly sound any worse.
