Home Sweet Home

It feels good to be back. Our first home game of the season, still without fans but first game at home we'll look to get off to a good start.

Our first home game of the season and we welcome West Ham. Starting the season with two London derbies, then Liverpool, Sheffield and City. After our fifth league game we should have an understanding of where we are, and who knows, maybe even with a couple of extra midfield additional too.

Our recent history with West Ham makes for good reading, so that, along with Aubameyang signing meant the boss had little questions to answer on the opposition in his pre-match press conference.

West Ham can be one of those games where the players will be up for the battle and 50/50 balls will be closely contested. Especially after their opening day loss, they will be ready to raise their game and get some early points on the board. Something Arteta talked about yesterday.

[WEST HAM ] are always a threat, we have a good example of the game we played against them last March. It was really difficult, we managed to win the game but we had a lot of problems, so we better be ready because after a defeat teams are always more dangerous.

For the team selection, I heard David Luiz is actually back in training. Surprised me as I thought initially we were looking at him being side-lined for longer. If he is back, the boss may look at this game to get him back in the team, with tougher games lurking around the corner. Now will that see us line up with a back 3 of Holding Luiz and Gabriel, with Tierney and Bellerin/ AMN outside them? Will Ainsley play? I hope so, after offering a lot in recent games. But if Luiz does come in, I don't think we'll change to a back four to allow for the extra body further up the pitch, but we'll see. I think the midfield may change with Ceballos partnering Xhaka, not to say Elneny hasn't done well, but I'd imagine with the extra training sessions Ceballos will be ready for a start. I'd then expect the front 3 to remain the same, following last week's success.

Defence is the interesting one for me, with the options available. If Gabriel does start I'd like to see him vs Antonio. Will rice and noble be in midfield? And can we shift the ball quickly to work and test their midfield.

Lastly I guess we'll all be looking out for who is not included at all, for any kind of clue for transfer business before the window closes.
